JOLIET, Ill. – State Rep. Natalie Manley, D-Joliet, joined State Sen. Meg Loughran Cappel, D-Shorewood, and State Rep. Larry Walsh, Jr., D-Elwood, recorded a podcast last week for the Illinois Rock & Roll Hall Museum on Route 66 in Joliet. This comes in advance of the museum’s Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, which will take place Sunday, September 14.
The podcast will play over the speaker inside the museum.
“The Rock & Roll Museum along Route 66 is such an important part of our local history, not only in Joliet, but throughout the State of Illinois, and our entire nation,” Manley said. “It was an honor to participate in a museum with music that transcends generations.”
When asked what her favorite display is inside the museum, Manley explained that she loved the History of the Blues throughout Illinois because her favorite band is the Rolling Stones, which had a tremendous influence on local blues music.
“The museum adds to the whole Route 66 experience, inviting visitors to downtown Joliet,” Manley said.
The Illinois Rock & Roll Museum’s Hall of Fame Inductions will be held at the Rialto Square Theatre, Joliet, Sept. 14, starting at 5 p.m. The ceremony will include combined inductions for 2024 and 2025.
Confirmed appearances include Richard Marx, Susie Bogguss, Disturbed, and Billy Branch. There will be live tributes to Little Walter, Marshall Thompson and the Chi-Lites.
The Illinois Rock & Roll Museum is located at 9 W. Cass Street in Joliet. For more information about the museum or the induction ceremony, visit www.RoadToRock.org.
