JOLIET, Ill. – State Rep. Natalie Manley, D-Joliet, joined St. Joseph Medical Center for two
ribbon cuttings Thursday. St. Joseph opened the remodeled lobby on Springfield Avenue, as well
as the grand opening of the new onsite outpatient therapy services clinic.
“St. Joseph Medical Center is a much-needed health care provider to Joliet and surrounding
communities,” Manley said.
Ryan Southcomb, the chief financial officer, and Colleen Pawlik, the interim chief executive
officer gave opening remarks. Manley, along with Joliet Mayor Terry D’Arcy, the medical
center’s patient access team, first cut the ribbon to the Springfield lobby. Staff and guests moved
to the Madison lobby outpatient clinic, joined by the outpatient therapy team for the second
ribbon cutting.
The outpatient therapy clinic will offer physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech
therapy, according to a medical center brochure. Specialty programs will also be available,
including cancer rehabilitation, concussion assessment, gait disorder clinic, neurological day
program and pelvic health. St. Joseph Medical Center intends to be the area’s most
comprehensive outpatient rehabilitation program, with early morning and evening appointments
at all locations.
St. Joseph’s Medical Center is located at 333 Madison Street, Joliet. Built in 1962, the main
entrance had been on Springfield Avenue. The original St. Joseph Hospital was located on
Broadway Street, dating back to the 1880s.
“Knowing the history of St. Joe’s, it’s wonderful to see the renovations and new additions to this
medical center,” Manley said. The new lobby is beautiful, and the outpatient therapy services
clinic will be a great asset to our community.”
Other locations include the St. Joseph Medical Center outpatient therapy services, 852A Sharp
Drive, Shorewood, and the Neuroscience Institute, 301 N. Madison Street, Suite 300, located in
the Madison Medical Office Building, Joliet.
