JOLIET, Ill. – State Rep. Natalie Manley, D-Joliet, kicked off the holiday season by joining Joliet’s annual Light Up the Holidays event Friday.
This year’s event included a North Pole Market, a North Pole Park, horse-drawn carriage rides, parade and fireworks.
Hosted by Joliet City Center Partnership, the event was held downtown Joliet.
“Every year, this is a beautiful night and a great way to bring the holiday spirit to Joliet and Will County,” Manley said. “There is so much to do for families and kids all over the downtown area.”
The North Pole market featured kids crafts, holiday photos, and Black Willow Brass Quintet. The Joliet Area Historical Museum held a family friendly scavenger hunt, and visit with Santa.
The Joliet Public Library held reindeer games and crafts, all to a holiday singalong with local musical legend John Condron.
The Joliet Central High School Choir sang for the annual tree lighting, followed by the Light Up the Holidays Parade.
“This is always such a fun event,” Manley said. “I would like to thank the Joliet City Center Partnership and all the organizations that make this a wonderful Joliet event.”
